Privacy policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

The short version: we only collect what we need to reply to you and do the work you ask for. We don't sell your details, we don't use tracking cookies, and you can ask to see or delete what we hold about you at any time.

Who we are

This policy covers Offsider Co ("Offsider", "we", "us"), a Sydney-based business that builds websites, business systems and apps for small businesses across Australia (ABN 79 873 284 120). You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].

We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you contact us

If you use the enquiry form, email or call us, we collect what you give us. Usually that's your name, business name, email address, mobile number, how you'd like to meet, and what you'd like help with.

When you become a client

To do the work we may also collect your business details, billing details, the content and photos you send us for your website, and the login details needed to set up services such as your domain, Google Business Profile or email. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we don't see or store your full card number.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we don't buy lists of personal information from anyone.

How we use it

We won't send you marketing unless you've agreed to it, and every marketing message will have an easy way to opt out.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the business, and only as much as they need:

Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose established providers with their own privacy and security commitments.

We may also disclose information if the law requires us to.

Your customers' data

When we build a back office or app for your business, it may hold information about your customers. That information belongs to your business. We handle it only to build, run and support your system, we don't use it for anything else, and we hand it back to you if you stop working with us. The details are set out in your client agreement.

This website

If we add any other analytics or tracking in future, we'll update this policy first.

How we keep it safe

We keep personal information in secure, password-protected services with two-step sign-in where available, and limit access to the people who need it. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, tax records), then delete it.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at [email protected] and we'll try to put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
